About the Role A Japan-based Solutions Engineer to support Optimism's enterprise and institutional adoption across the Japanese market the technical counterpart for Japan's largest enterprises evaluating and deploying OP Stack systems, and OP Labs' technical face in-market alongside sales and BD. Key Responsibilities - Act as the primary technical counterpart for enterprise and institutional partners in Japan during evaluations, pilots, and integrations - Lead technical discovery sessions covering architecture, performance, security, compliance, and operational requirements - Design and support test environments to validate throughput, latency, and cost assumptions - Respond to detailed technical diligence from banks, asset managers, system integrators, and regulators - Support documentation localisation and technical enablement in Japanese - Represent Optimism technically in Japan: technical workshops, partner meetings, and industry events alongside sales and BD - Collaborate with local ecosystem partners (system integrators, exchanges, wallets) to accelerate adoption Requirements - 5-10 years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Pre-Sales role - Background in blockchain infrastructure, cloud platforms, distributed systems, or financial infrastructure - Hands-on experience with Ethereum or EVM-based systems Layer 1 or Layer 2 strongly preferred - Fluent in Japanese, with professional working proficiency in English - Must be based in Japan this is a hard requirement, not a preference Bonus Skills - Experience working with regulated institutions (banks, asset managers, exchanges, payments firms) - Existing relationships with Japanese system integrators, exchanges, or wallets
